British Airways announces summer 2008 route network
changes. The focus is on increased US flights from Heathrow
following the EU-US Open Skies aviation
treaty, which comes in to effect in March 2008.
Key changes are:
Effective from March 30, 2008, extra frequencies
to US destinations as follows:
- Heathrow to New york JFK up from 51 to 55 flights
per week
- Heathrow to Seattle up from 10 -13 flights per week
- Heathrow to Washington up from 21 t0 24 flights per
week
- Gatwick to Orlando up from 7 -10 flights per week
Next summer, British Airways will offer
41 daily flights to 18 destinations across the US.
Suspension of flights to Harare from Oct
28, 2007 (Comair will operate flights between Harare
and Johannesburg).
Suspension of flights from Heathrow to
Detroit from March 30, 2008
New route from Gatwick to Genoa from April
4, 2008
Algiers will move from Gatwick to Heathrow
and Warsaw will move from Heathrow to Gatwick from March
30, 2008.
