Continental Airlines is to allow passengers to use
mobile phones soon after an aircraft lands at its destination.
Under the new policy, which is now effective, cellular
phone use is permitted after landing when advised by
the cabin staff. Previously, mobile phone operation
was restricted until after the aircraft door had been
opened at the arrival gate. The policy on telephone
use at departure remains unchanged – phone use
must be discontinued when the cabin door is closed.
