While we might be enjoying a heatwave, summer is gradually drawing to a close. That means any travel is likely to be business travel rather than holidays.
According to Travel Daily News, there is a ‘generational divide’ when it comes to the enjoyment of business travel. Millennials and ‘Generation X’ are more likely to enjoy the experience, especially if they haven’t yet had a family. The baby boomer generation, meanwhile, rank maintaining relationships with family as extremely important while travelling for work. This can often get in their way of enjoying the experience.
There are also four key themes that correlate with a positive experience: booking, productivity during travel, reporting and your personal life. While we can’t improve your personal life, our travel management company can improve your travel experience.
Why use our travel management company?
With our honest, comprehensive and independent advice, your company will find business travel smoother, cheaper and more enjoyable. We have £1 billion of buying power at your disposal, and over 35 years of experience in the business travel industry.

According to Buying Business Travel, small companies believe that they pay more for travel, and find it more time consuming to organise. They also find it more difficult to book compared to larger firms. Even worse, they feel like they’re not treated as well.
It’s also reported that small business travellers experience a lot of stress when booking, according to the study by the IHG (Intercontinental Hotel Groups). The survey was conducted in April 2016, and involved asking 1,005 small business travellers aged 25-65.

Despite the levels of global uncertainty, business travel fares have remained relatively stable. Airline prices are predicted to rise by only 2.5% in 2017, according to Buying Business Travel. However, some fares might fall below 2015 prices in other places.
Events like the shootings in Munich have a direct effect on demands, with Lufthansa reporting advanced booking significantly reduced. EasyJet has also been affected by a mixture of Brexit, terror attacks and a weak pound. Despite passenger numbers increasing in the third quarter, total revenue per seat has been down.
Here in the UK the decision to leave the EU has been affecting plans for Heathrow Airport. Its bosses are saying that increased capacity is now more important than ever. Hotel industry prices are also not predicted to be affected until 2018.
Part of the problem with the travel industry at the moment is it’s so unpredictable.
A business travel agent that will surpass your expectations.

Politically we’ve been on a wild ride over the past month. This week we’re saying goodbye to David Cameron after six years of leadership, and ushering in Theresa May. Brexit is likely to affect many things but it’s not yet known if business travel is one of them.
Despite the trepidations over the UK’s economy, business travel grew by around 8% in 2015, according to experts. Nonetheless, many businesses have been tightening their budgets after the news we’re exiting the EU. This is because companies are looking to ‘hedge the uncertainty’ and prepare for the possibility of a mild recession.
Global business travel is an essential part of driving the economy forward, and remains a priority for thousands of companies.
If you want to save money in 2016, consider the use of a Travel Management Company.
There are many reasons to choose Wayte Business Management for your business. As a founder of the Advantage Focus Partnership, we have over £1 billion of buying power at your disposal. In the wake of Brexit, organising corporate travel could get harder. Or it could remain almost exactly the same. As with most potential effects of Brexit, everything is currently ‘up in the air’.
According to The Independent, Britain’s proposed exit from the EU has ‘spooked’ the airline companies, with people worrying that the skies might not be so open. Of course, many businesses might also consider moving from the UK to elsewhere in Europe. But as of yet it’s unclear what kind of effects it will have for travellers.
However, many people believe that UK business travel will thrive despite such challenges, according to ‘Buying Business Travel’. GBTA, for instance, has been predicting a 7.9% rise in UK business travel spending for this year.
Whatever happens, Wayte Travel Management can help with your corporate travel to and from London.

Does your business travel to and from London?
One of its major airports, Heathrow is celebrating 70 years of flying people all over the world. Before the 1940s, the airport was just a hamlet which consisted of an isolated row of cottages. The airport had its first commercial flights way back in 1946; only one year after World War Two ended. Joanna Lumley has been launching the 70th anniversary celebrations which includes unveiling a number of plaques.
Over the past seven decades, everyone from The Beatles to the 1964 English rugby team have passed through. It’s also the place Queen Elizabeth first alighted after becoming our monarch in 1953; she had been away touring Kenya when her father passed away.
Do you regularly travel from London, and need help with your business travel?
With business travel adding billions to UK trade, this industry will remain important regardless of whether Brexit takes place or not.
At Wayte Travel Management we help companies from all over the UK, with their business travel. With offices based in London, Staffordshire and Jersey, we can get you the best flights, hotel room and car hire, where ever you’re travelling to. According to one U.S. travel agency, the price of rental cars, hotels and airlines has increased in the first quarter of 2016. In America, the average flight is now $8 more expensive and hotels were $3 more expensive, which of course affects business travellers all over the world.
Despite this, business travel adds billions every year to UK trade, and has been cited as a driver of economic growth, according to the Guild of Travel Management Companies (GTMC). It’s particularly important for places like Jersey which are cut off from mainland Europe.
In one study commissioned by the GTMC, a 1% increase in business travel would lead to an extra £390 million for the UK economy. That means factors like airport expansion should be considered more urgently.
If you’re based in Jersey and require a business travel agency, consider Wayte Travel Management for all your needs.
Our team can get you the best flights for the lowest possible prices, along with the finest hotel rooms and rental cars. With offices based in London, Jersey and Staffordshire, we’re ideal for companies all over the UK.
